Experience the iconic landscapes of Northern Arizona and the Grand Canyon by land, water and air! At Grand Canyon National Park marvel at the many scenes of nature’s geologic wonderland from the viewpoints along the South Rim. Explore the Native American cultures of the Colorado Plateau at the Museum of Northern Arizona and Walnut Canyon National Monument. Enjoy a guided rim exploration of Meteor Crater, the world’s best-preserved meteorite impact site. The climax of the week will be a thrilling helicopter ride and a raft trip through western Grand Canyon.


• Spend a day at Grand Canyon National Park. Visit the iconic Desert View Watchtower with its sweeping views of the Colorado River. Explore stunning viewpoints, rim trails and historic Grand Canyon Village.
• Enjoy a docent-led highlights exploration of the Museum of Northern Arizona with its collection of Colorado Plateau cultural arts and artifacts before visiting the sheltered 800-year-old Sinagua culture cliff dwellings at Walnut Canyon National Monument.
• Raft through the less-visited and remote western Grand Canyon Canyon on either a thrilling white water adventure or a smooth water float, depending on the date chosen and helicopter either in or out from the river.

Activity Notes

Walks up to one mile on paved and dirt surfaces. Some sloped uneven terrain. Be prepared to get in and out of rafts. Participants will get wet on white water raft trip option. Elevations 7,000 feet at Flagstaff and Grand Canyon National Park. 5,000 feet at Peach Springs.

Itinerary Summary

Arrival Flagstaff, 4 nights; travel to Peach Springs, 2 nights; return to Flagstaff for departures OR optional shuttle direct to Phoenix (extra charge).
