Program #2182RJ
6 Days | 5 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Active
Love to learn in a small-group setting? This collection of programs has at most 10-24 participants.
See our Small Group programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
With nature’s great outdoors as your classroom, learn about history and ecology in this kayaking adventure in which flat-water paddling keeps an opportune eye tuned to the tides and winds. Kayak through beautiful creeks in historic Bloody Marsh and to the fabulous birding beach on the south end of Sea Island. As you paddle through the island's saltwater marshlands, making your way up small rivers and tidal creeks, keep your binoculars ready for seasonal birds.

Highlights

• Take to the waters of one of Georgia’s most pristine rivers, the Satilla, with moss-draped live oaks forming a spectacular canopy.
• Explore Cathead Creek, a 15-mile tributary of the Altamaha River, characterized by narrow rice canals and cypress swamps.
• Paddle across St. Simons Sound to Jekyll Island and rest on the “boneyard” beach.
