Road Scholar
Program #21174RJ
8 Days | 7 Nights
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Join many of Road Scholar’s best-loved instructors for a week of companionship, scholarship and good old-fashioned fun in the world-class city of Chicago. Based in one of the Windy City’s most illustrious hotels, we’ll set off on expert-led field trips to prestigious museums, famous landmarks and architectural masterpieces. Then we’ll cap it all off with a final-night gala you won’t want to miss!

• Talk with experts about the historical and political character of Chicago, as well as Ernest Hemingway and Frank Lloyd Wright, two famous Americans with ties to the city.
• Explore the famed Art Institute of Chicago, Field Museum of Natural History, Museum of Science and Technology and other important institutions that make Chicago a cultural capital.
• From Wright’s Emil Bach House to Lorado Taft’s monument in Heald Square to the many buildings designed by Charles Atwood, survey Chicago’s stunning architectural array on a narrated study cruise.
