Road Scholar
Program #1410RJ
21 Days | 20 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Explore the unique beauty of four Hawaiian Islands: the Big Island of Hawaii, the Valley Isle of Maui, the Garden Isle of Kauai and Oahu, the Gathering Place. Hear the stories of Hawaii as told in song and dance and savor the “mana” or spiritual essence of the land. Experience aspects of the islands’ culture and environment not seen by the casual visitor, as you learn from local experts about ecology, language and history. Experience the spectacular beauty and vibrant history of Hawaii’s four main islands.

Highlights

• Visit Kilauea, the world's most active volcano, and Haleakala, the great dormant volcano with a summit 10,000 feet.
• Experience Waimea, the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific.”
• Honor those who lost their lives at Pearl Harbor in December 1941 at the USS Arizona Memorial.

Activity Notes

Walking up to one-half mile on uneven terrain.
