Program #12832RJ
6 Days | 5 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Active
Love to learn in a small-group setting? This collection of programs has at most 10-24 participants.
See our Small Group programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Jackson Hole evokes an image of all that is picturesque and poignant about the West: self-reliant trappers, rugged cowboys, and towering mountains. Learn how Davey Jackson’s namesake valley has emerged from its tumultuous history of murderers, horse thieves, and scallywags to become home to one of the nation’s most popular National Parks and one of its most “green” resort communities.

Highlights

• Journey into Grand Teton National Park and enjoy a viewing of the David T. Vernon Native American Art Collection.
• Visit the Murie Museum to see the vast collection of specimens. Also explore the Murie Center & Murie Ranch to get an overview of the life and conservation accomplishments of the Murie Family.
• In Jackson Hole, learn about the elk herd with a visit to the National Elk Refuge, explore the National Museum of Wildlife Art, and visit the Wort Hotel, the oldest building in town, home to the famous Million Dollar Cowboy Bar and see where illegal activities continued through prohibition.

Coordinated by Teton Science Schools.
