Program #6556RJ
4 Days | 3 Nights
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Enjoy two classic Southwestern adventures — a Colorado River raft trip and an expert-led boat cruise on Lake Powell to Antelope Canyon on the Navajo Nation. Raft 15 placid miles through majestic Glen Canyon to Lee’s Ferry, the very beginning of the Grand Canyon. See the beauty of Lake Powell’s sparkling waters juxtaposed against the streaked cliffs of Navajo sandstone where the forces of nature have created a kaleidoscope of colors and shapes.

• After visiting Glen Canyon dam, enjoy a flat-water float beneath the towering 1,000-foot-tall cliffs of the last remaining free-flowing section of Glen Canyon, viewing ancient riverside petroglyph rock art.
• Take a boat trip exploring a few of the lake’s many side channels, including the twisting confines of Antelope Canyon.
• Discover the region’s layer-cake geology, high-desert ecology, Mormon history and the explorations of Major John Wesley Powell.

Activity Notes

Hiking up to one mile, getting in and out of rafts requires agility. Elevations up to 4,300 feet.

Coordinated by Northern Arizona University.
