Love to learn in a small-group setting? This collection of programs has at most 10-24 participants.
See our Small Group programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
The wilderness of Alaska and the Yukon share a vast frontier waiting to be explored — stunning snow-capped mountains, cascading waterfalls, crystal clear rivers and sparkling glaciers pervade each memorable day of this journey. At magnificent national parks and landmarks of Gold Rush history, experts regale our intimate small group with stories, history and culture. Experience unforgettable wildlife viewing — grizzlies, caribou, moose, bald eagles and more — as you adventure 60 miles into Denali National Park. Ferry in fjords, explore native villages and add a little urban flair with excursions in Whitehorse, Anchorage and Fairbanks.

Highlights

Pan for gold as you learn about the impact on the region of the Klondike Gold Rush.
Marvel at views of Mount Denali (McKinley) and mountain-clad Kluane National Park.
Hear from Natives about the rhythms of life in the Yukon and drive the “Top of the World Highway,” overlooking 100 miles of scenic beauty.
Due to the nature of this program, listening devices are not available.

Activity Notes

Walking up to three miles per day over varied terrain. Getting on/off coach. Elevations up to 4,127 feet.
