EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. Minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding, and rewarding, programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Come to the St. Nicholas Ranch and Retreat Center in the Sierra Nevada foothills to experience a captivating presentation of a 3,000-year-old story — the “Illiad,” the world’s greatest war story, and the “Odyssey,” literature’s greatest recreation of every person's journey through life. The study of Homer’s epic poems are one of three close-ups on Greece during your invigorating week. You’ll also ponder the question, “How should we live?” — considering the opinions of Socrates, Plato and Aristotle. Finally, experience the sights, sounds and tastes of modern Greece, and learn basic Greek dances!

• Hear a gifted professor’s colorful examination of the “Illiad,” and the “Odyssey,” and enjoy a live presentation of the “Iliad” that will make you feel like you’re standing on the beach of Troy 3,500 years ago.
• Enjoy the hospitality of nuns during an exploration of a Greek Orthodox Convent, enjoying Greek coffee and pastries afterward.
• Try your hand at creating Mediterranean cuisine during a Greek cooking class and savor Greek meals all week.
