EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Join us for a celebration of Nashville greats, from the numerous historic sites to the famous names of the Grand Ole Opry Stage. Get the inside scoop on the daily, massive operations of the Opryland Hotel and the “home of country music.” Explore the homesteads of Andrew Jackson and General Chalmer for a taste of antebellum period architecture. Taste the smoky richness of southern BBQ, see why the Walking Horse was a favorite of Western films, and don’t y’all forget to come back now, ya hear?

Highlights

• Led by managers and botanists, experience privileged, behind-the-scenes access to the daily operations and garden maintenance of Opryland, also home of the Grand Ole Opry stage.
• Explore history and culture with field trips to The Hermitage, Belle Meade, and learn the art of songwriting from an accomplished Nashville writer and create your own country “hit.”
• Judge the merits of the famed Tennessee Walking Horse at a showing and visit the home of the breed’s World Championships.

Program Notes

This diverse program features some of the Nashville area’s treasures including plantations and spectacular horse farms. Get an insider’s look at operation of the Gaylord Resort and Grand Old Opry.
