Program #7045RJ
6 Days | 5 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Active
While all of our learning adventures offer extraordinary value, our "Best Value" programs were rated by our participants themselves who thought their dollar went particularly far.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
From holly to history, music to merriment, candles to Colonists, experience the historic and cultural significance of Christmas in early America! Savor music, foods and festivities from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries that contributed to modern customs and traditions. Marvel at the world-famous Colonial Williamsburg decorations, learn how they are made and create your own to bring home. Explore religious customs and lifestyles of the people, free and enslaved, who lived and worked on the great plantations. Savor a meal in the 18th-century fashion at a Colonial Williamsburg tavern and depart filled with the holiday spirit.

Highlights

• View the elaborate decorations displayed on the homes and storefronts of Colonial Williamsburg on a stroll with an experienced interpreter, capped off by a meal in an 18th-century tavern.
• Create your own Colonial wreath using traditional materials after a demonstration and experience the talents of skilled musicians, costumed interpreters and an entertaining chef in a series of period performances.
• Explore three centuries of plantation living, from the great James River mansions to a modest farm house to an urban plantation in the town of Williamsburg.
