Program intended for grandchildren from 9 - 12 years of age.

Experience a special coastal world in northeast Florida whose amazing residents have included pirates, shrimpers, noblemen and confederates. Venture into the Atlantic Ocean on a shrimp trawler and explore the mysterious Okefenokee Swamp in a small boat. Witness the sights and sounds of an exciting range of animals, from sea turtles and wild horses to alligators, local snakes, and maybe even a black bear. Bring big pockets to hold your sea shells!

• Take an exciting boat ride to Georgia’s Jekyll Island to learn about sea turtles, then visit a hospital to see how injured and distressed turtles are returned to health.
• Explore a Civil War fort with an 1800s soldier who explains why the fort’s ocean-side location was so important.
• Travel by ferry to Cumberland Island to explore the beach, see wild horses and visit crumbling ruins of a mansion.
