EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Purchased for two cents per acre, Alaska has become an invaluable part of America, its Last Frontier. Glide past icebergs and through breathtaking fjords to explore Alaska’s coast and learn about those who’ve inhabited it, from the indigenous peoples to Russian traders to adventurers seeking Gold Rush fortunes.

Highlights

• Learn about the art and the significance of totem poles at the Totem Heritage Center, home to an excellent collection of preserved totem poles.
• Enjoy a whale-watching expedition north of Juneau that departs from Auke Bay.
• Study the famous Kodiak bear with a local biologist on Kodiak Island.

Program Notes

In some ports you will have the option of enjoying lunch on your own at your expense rather than returning to the ship for lunch. Singles looking to be matched with a roommate may do so by enrolling in Cat. 4.
Due to the nature of this program, listening devices are not available.

Activity Notes

Moderate walking, mainly on flat surfaces but some trails can be uneven or wet. Participants should be able to walk up to one mile per day at a rate of ¼ mile in 15 minutes.
