See our Small Group programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
The engineering, language and literature of Classical Rome underpin the culture of the European nations and have contributed greatly to the modern world. How did Rome come to be and how did it grow to an enormous empire? With a diverse team of Latinists, classicists, religious and art historians, delve into the story of this Western Empire, learn how the Romans lived and how they contributed to the development of Christianity, literature and the arts.

Highlights

• In lively expert-led presentations, learn about Rome and its great historic characters from Julius Caesar and Nero to Ovid and Virgil.
• Take in the diverse natural wonders of Idaho during field trips to Malad State Park and the Hagerman Fossil beds.
• A pontoon boat ride along the Snake River offers spectacular views of the surrounding canyon followed by a picnic at Centennial Park in Twin Falls.
Due to the nature of this program, listening devices are not available.
