Road Scholar
Program #20296RJ
6 Days | 5 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Easy
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
In this multicultural experience, learn how China’s neighboring countries — Japan, Korea, Thailand and Vietnam — were influenced by her culture and how they incorporated it into their own civilizations. With foreign nationals and an American Foreign Service diplomat, gain an understanding and appreciation of the heritage and history of these different nations and peoples. During a field trip to Guang Ming Buddhist Temple, encounter the religious beliefs of a majority of Asian cultures from the spiritual leader, and enjoy other highlights such as invigorating Tai Chi each morning, entertainment and presentations each evening by ethnic artisans and performers, and a multicultural feast to give you a taste of a variety of Asian cuisines.

Highlights

• Enjoy presentations by ethnic artisans and performers.
• Take a field trip to Guang Ming Buddhist Temple to encounter the religious beliefs of a majority of Asian cultures from the spiritual leader.
• Experience enriching features such as invigorating (optional) Tai Chi each morning and a multicultural feast to taste the variety of Asian cuisines.
