Love to learn in a small-group setting? This collection of programs has at most 10-24 participants.
See our Small Group programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Embark on an exploration of Vancouver and Victoria to learn about these world-class cities with time-honored British, European and Asian traditions. Discover the planning and development that have made Vancouver one of the world’s most livable cities and explore its most fascinating neighborhoods, including Gastown and Chinatown, for perspectives on the people and events that shaped the west coast before the era of glass and concrete. In Victoria, meet with a local expert and explore historic landmarks including Old Town, the Inner Harbor, the British Columbia legislature and the grand Empress Hotel.

Highlights

• Explore Granville Island with a local expert chef and sample tastings of regional foods from a variety of local vendors.
• Enjoy an expert-led exploration of Vancouver’s Stanley Park with an expert from the Stanley Park Ecology Society.
• Inside the Empress Hotel, observe some of the most breathtaking architecture in all of Victoria and hear the stories of famous guests who have stayed here throughout the years.

Activity Notes

Walking up to one mile a day over varied terrain; climbing a few flights of stairs.
