See our Small Group programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Nothing compares to the ever-changing beauty of Yosemite and the expansive Sierra Nevada in any season. Our exceptional instructors immerse you in the region’s unique geology, flora and fauna. Study the history of the Native Americans and pioneers who followed in later years. During a daylong field trip to Yosemite Valley, experience the magnificence of Half Dome, El Capitan and more. Hear tales of early settlements and local lore.

• En route to Yosemite Valley, feel the mist of Bridalveil Falls and marvel at the breathtaking Tunnel View and Sentinel Bridge’s view of Half Dome.
• In Yosemite Valley, choose to experience Ahwahnee Hotel and its magnificent façade and architecture, a destination of queens and presidents alike.
• Explore the Ansel Adams Gallery and the Native American Village and Museum, and walk to Yosemite Falls or Mirror Lake in your free time.

Program Notes

Enjoy a five-night version of this program, "Seasons of Magic in Yosemite: Splendor in the Sierra Nevada" (#1197).

Activity Notes

Some walking during field trips; some uneven terrain.

Date Notes
Yosemite is a spectacular winter wonderland! Our field trip bus is properly equipped for snow travel and the Park Guide is anxious to point out winter`s unique decoration on the already breathtaking Yosemite Valley. Winter in Yosemite boasts a quiet and serine experience with fewer visitors, snow capped granite cliffs and domes, grande ice cycles, slow moving frozen streams of "frazzle ice", and often a snow cone beneath Yosemite Falls that can reach up to 400 feet high! Count yourself fortunate to utilize this spectacular opportunity.
