Road Scholar
Program #9766RJ
5 Days | 4 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Laguna Beach’s Pageant of the Masters is an extraordinary whimsical adventure — real people recreating famous works of art by posing in an outdoor amphitheater with a live orchestra, original score, live narration, intricate sets and sophisticated lighting. This visual feast and its preparatory lectures are the culmination of a program that traces Southern California's multi-cultural history through the creativity of its many peoples.

Highlights

• Watch as live actors and intricate sets are magically transformed into recreations of magnificent works of art in the Pageant of the Masters.
• Gain insight into the history of the pageant and the artists whose masterpieces capture and enhance the pageant's theme, which changes each year.
• Trace Southern California's multi-cultural history with visits to Bowers Museum, San Juan Capistrano Mission, Irvine Museum and Laguna Beach.

Activity Notes

Walking and standing up to 1.5 hours on guided walks.

Coordinated by Road Scholar.
