See our Small Group programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. Minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding, and rewarding, programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Experience Point Reyes National Seashore — one of the premier birding locals in the country with more than 85,000 acres of protected coastal land. More than 45 percent of all the birds known to inhabit North America have been spotted at this Pacific flyway hotspot’s freshwater marshes, salt marshes, riparian woodlands, grasslands and scrub. Expert local instructors lead daily field classes and help you identify raptors, water birds, shorebirds and land birds by their markings, behavior and songs.

• Enjoy some of the best birding on the national seashore at Abbott’s Lagoon, a haven for coots, grebes, terns, gulls, pelicans and songbirds.
• Explore the Audubon Canyon Ranch, an exceptional rookery for egrets and herons, and learn about bird banding at the Point Reyes Bird Observatory.
• Visit the studio of acclaimed bird artist Keith Hansen, who has created more than 200 illustrations for major ornithological publications.
