Road Scholar
Program #11602RJ
6 Days | 5 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Easy
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Come to Georgia to master your bridge game and experience nature at its best! Beautiful Jekyll Island becomes your classroom as bridge experts provide instruction for improving your hands and strategies, and naturalists offer a local perspective on the island’s pristine beaches and fascinating ecology. Join in bridge classes that offer tips for playing the hand, leads, defense, and signals, and get comfortable with higher opening no-trump bids and the Stayman Convention. When not improving your game, explore Jekyll Island’s beaches, dunes and maritime forest to discover its coastal ecosystem.

Highlights

• Get pointers on improving your bridge game from a Life Master of the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL).
• Learn about the Knobbed Whelk — Georgia’s state shell — and the life cycles of sea turtles during beach explorations.
• Consider the importance of Georgia’s salt marsh environments during an expert-led exploration.

Activity Notes

Walking up to one mile over varied terrain, beach and boardwalks.

Coordinated by Georgia College and State University.
