Road Scholar
Program #20772RJ
54 Days | 53 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Active
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Encompassing the first 53 nights of Road Scholar World Academy 2013, the first semester includes ancient wonders, otherworldly landscapes and fascinating courses of study. Disembark the ship for special excursions to the Galápagos Islands, Machu Picchu, Chilean wine country and majestic Iguazu Falls.

Highlights

• Discover incredible ruins left behind by the Mayans, the amazing Incan “lost city” of Machu Picchu and evidence of other pre-Columbian societies.
• Explore the Galápagos Islands, transit the Panama Canal, navigate through the fjords of Patagonia and round Cape Horn.
• Encounter amazing wildlife: Galápagos tortoises, colorful tropical birds, killer whales, Magellanic Penguins and more.

Program Notes

This program is a part of Road Scholar World Academy 2013: Exploring South America (Program #20752), which begins on January 4, 2013.
