Experience the iconic landscapes of Northern Arizona and the Grand Canyon by land, water and air! At Grand Canyon National Park marvel at the many scenes of nature’s geologic wonderland from the viewpoints along the South Rim. Explore the native american cultures of the Colorado Plateau at the Museum of Northern Arizona and Walnut Canyon National Monument. Enjoy a guided rim tour of Meteor Crater, the world’s best preserved meteorite impact site. The climax of the week will be a thrilling helicopter ride into the canyon to the Colorado River for a raft trip through the western Grand Canyon.


Highlights

• Spend a day at Grand Canyon National Park. Visit the Desert View Watchtower with sweeping views of the Colorado River. Explore stunning viewpoints, rim trails and the historic Grand Canyon Village.
• Enjoy an engaging docent-led highlights tour at the Museum of Northern Arizona before visiting 800-year-old Sinagua culture cliff dwellings at Walnut Canyon National Monument.
• At Grand Canyon West on the Hualapai Reservation take a helicopter ride down to the Colorado River for a scenic raft trip through the last stretch of the Grand Canyon before "exiting" through the Grand Wash Cliffs and Lake Mead.

Activity Notes

Walks up to one mile on paved and dirt surfaces. Some sloped uneven terrain. Be prepare to get in and out of rafts. Elevations 7,000 feet at Flagstaff and Grand Canyon National Park. 5,000 feet at Peach Springs.

Itinerary Summary

Arrival Flagstaff, 4 nights; travel to Peach Springs, 2 nights; return to Flagstaff for departures OR optional shuttle direct to Phoenix (extra charge).
