Celebrate the arrival of spring by exploring Macon, the small city known as “The Heart of Georgia,” during the annual International Cherry Blossom Festival. Festival events commemorate the flowering of Macon’s 300,000 Yoshino cherry trees, the largest array outside of Japan. Enjoy expert-led visits to Macon’s historic homes and museums, including the brand-new Tubman African American Museum. Explore the city’s history, architecture and tree-filled parks on foot with area experts. Follow the city’s aptly named Cherry Blossom Trail, including a visit to the Fickling Family Farm boasting nearly 10,000 cherry trees.

• Experience the most expansive Cherry Blossom Festival in the U.S., a month-long celebration.
• Discover the interiors of Macon’s lovely antebellum mansions including the Cowles-Woodruff House, Hay House, Cannonball House and Sidney Lanier Cottage.
