EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. Minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding, and rewarding, programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Immerse yourself in California’s national parks — Sequoia/Kings Canyon, Yosemite, Lassen, Redwoods — and experience fascinating stops in Mono Lake, Lake Tahoe, Carson City, Virginia City, Shasta Dam and Mendocino. This California adventure spotlights the state’s topographic and climatic diversity, from the desert of the Eastern Sierra, across the mountains to the rugged North Coast.

• Marvel at giant, ancient sequoias and redwoods, two very different and equally remarkable species of tree.
• With expert naturalists, experience Yosemite Valley and dine at the historic Wawona hotel.
• Visit the fumaroles and mud pots of Lassen Volcanic National Park, and journey to the base of Shasta Dam, the second-largest dam in the country.

Activity Notes

Walking up to one mile, varied terrain; standing 60 minutes. Elevations will exceed 3,000 up to 9,000 feet.
