Road Scholar
Program #2805RJ
8 Days | 7 Nights
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Experience the Grand Canyon with two smooth-water raft trips on the Colorado River. Enjoy a raft trip through Glen Canyon and explore the South Rim of the Grand Canyon with its sweeping views and historical features. The adventure culminates with a helicopter flight into the canyon and a raft trip on the Colorado River.

• At Glen Canyon, float by raft on the Colorado River, passing between towering sandstone cliffs.
• Spend two nights on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, with field trips and walks along the rim to stunning viewpoints.
• Fly by helicopter to the banks of the Colorado River and raft 20 miles to the Grand Wash Cliffs.

Activity Notes

Walking up to one mile on uneven ground. Board and disembark rafts. Elevations visited will be between 3,000 and 7,000 feet. On the S. Rim the distance between the lodging and dining area requires up to a 1/4 mile walk. Check Roadscholar.org for more detailed information (program #2805).
