Beneath Graybeard Mountain in western North Carolina, surrounded by 4,000 acres of hardwood and laurel forests, Montreat Conference Center is a mountain retreat in a tranquil setting ideal for pursuing matters of the mind. Make your way to this peaceful hideaway and lodge at its recently renovated, stone-built Assembly Inn as you delve into the true state of the American economy, the various challenges to U.S. foreign policy and leadership and the social impact of the folk music revival.

Highlights

• Analyze the economic restraints facing America even after the official end of the Great Recession and discover ways they can be mitigated.
• Evaluate U.S. foreign policy and leadership in the face of global terrorism, economic instability, Chinese ambitions and Middle East political turmoil.
• Sing along with Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, Bob Dylan and others as you look at how they spoke through music during times of poverty, social unrest, unionization and the civil rights movement.
