Road Scholar
Program #7019RJ
6 Days | 5 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
View the River Walk ablaze with millions of lights while journeying along the river during the annual Festival of Lights. Through expert-led visits to San Antonio’s icons, bring greater perspective to your understanding of this fascinating city in its most beautiful time of the year.

Highlights

• Walk the King William Historic District, home to 19th-century mansions, and experience it decorated for the holidays.
• Experience the San Fernando Cathedral, built in 1731 as a center for city life — 5,000 participate in weekend masses and 100 weddings are held here each year.
• Learn about the life of LBJ on a day-long field trip to the Texas Hill Country.

Activity Notes

Walking up to one mile with rests, some uneven terrain in historic areas, one flight of stairs, getting on/off trolley car and motorcoach without assistance.

Coordinated by Barshop Jewish Community Center of San Antonio.
