See our Small Group programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Immerse yourself in the local culture of picturesque seaside villages hidden amidst the rugged shorelines and captivating scenic byways of Maine. Journey through Portland’s cobblestone streets that lead you to spots to satisfy your cravings with a taste of Old Port’s thriving foodie scene. Let the route take you up the coast traveling “downeast” and further into the classic, quiet towns exuding charm representative of the romance of Maine’s unspoiled beauty. Pass lighthouses, just beyond the sheltered blue harbors, that serve as beacons of maritime past and present and spend the day in nature, soaking in breathtaking landscapes that drew noteworthy summer residents. Relax while the sun sets, eating traditional lobster bake with your fellow adventurers. Learn from experts and locals alike, residents who value the story of Maine’s contrasting culture of industry and artistic colonies maintaining their balance of community.

Highlights

• With a naturalist, experience the sea cliffs of spectacular Acadia National Park while exploring sparkling waterways on a nature cruise.
• Voyage on a classic Maine schooner and learn about the region's shipbuilding and maritime prowess.
• Visit the historic Olson House, the dwelling
of a friend of Andrew Wyeth that inspired
the artist’s “Christina’s World.”
