ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Program intended for grandchildren from 9 - 12 years of age.

This special week is designed for grandparents and grandchildren to spend quality time together and create lasting memories. Known internationally as a great eco tourism destination, Haliburton Forest is a nature lover's dream. Discover what lurks beneath the water on a wetlands exploration and learn about the wildlife with a visit to the Wolf Centre to view a wolf feeding. On a field trip to an old-growth White Pine stand, take a "Walk in the Clouds," where the 500 meters of suspension bridges and two platforms are ideal for wildlife viewing. Learn survival skills and embark on a butterfly safari to identify different species. Evening activities include sky-gazing at our Dark Sky Observatory, woodland walks, a campfire sing-along and a wolf howl.

Highlights

• Walk the clouds along 1,500 feet of suspension bridges over pristine, old-growth white pine forests, a great vantage point for wildlife viewing.
• Identify butterflies, birds and pond creatures on various field trips.
• See wolf behavior up close at the Wolf Center and see how they are adapted to the woodlands.
