Road Scholar
Program #4555RJ
6 Days | 5 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate
Road Scholar has thousands of educational adventures to choose from. A good way to narrow down our list is to browse our collection of "Most Popular" programs.
See all of our Most Popular programs.
While all of our learning adventures offer extraordinary value, our "Best Value" programs were rated by our participants themselves who thought their dollar went particularly far.
Love to learn in a small-group setting? This collection of programs has at most 10-24 participants.
See our Small Group programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Immerse yourself in traditions as you take an unhurried view of the beautiful Ozark Mountain region. Float along the lazy flowing White River in a raft and enjoy a relaxing walk in the Ozark National Forest studying plants and wildlife. Become part of this way of life as you listen to songs and stories descended from the British Isles and visit with the Ozark Folk Center's artisans to discover their creative talents. You'll not forget this area after you've picnicked by a clear flowing stream or discovered the unrivaled beauty of Blanchard Cave — memories await you!

Highlights

• Feel the struggles and joy of life in the Ozarks in living history presentations and through the creative talents of local artisans.
• Go on an expert-led exploration of Blanchard Springs Caverns, one of the nation’s premiere cave systems.
• Delight in two evening musicals performed by Folk Center musicians.

Activity Notes

Walking up to one mile. Climbing in/out of rubber raft.

Coordinated by Ozark Folk Center.
