See our Small Group programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. Minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding, and rewarding, programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Board a sturdy expedition vessel to fully circumnavigate “The Rock” — the Canadian island of Newfoundland. Close-cruise dramatic shorelines, delve into stories of Vikings and cod fishing fleets, witness our planet’s ever-shifting geology and visit tiny island outposts where hardy townsfolk emerge from their brightly painted clapboard houses to warmly welcome visitors. Keep an eye out for playful whales when on deck!

• At the tip of the Great Northern Peninsula, discover the ruins of the Viking settlement at L’Anse aux Meadows.
• Peel back layers of the Earth’s history in Gros Morne National Park, one of the best places anywhere to learn about geology.
• Explore remote outposts where French, English and Irish dialects are still spoken, a legacy of the first Europeans to settle each part of the island.

Activity Notes

Moderate activity, walking on cobblestones, dunes and uneven terrain. Getting in/out of zodiac rafts and making shore landings on rugged beaches.
