Program #17660RJ
6 Days | 5 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderately Challenging
Love to learn in a small-group setting? This collection of programs has at most 10-24 participants.
See our Small Group programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Make a cyclist’s and wine-lover’s pilgrimage to Healdsburg in Sonoma County, the heart of Northern California’s famed wine country. Pedal country roads along the historic Russian River and the Dry Creek Valley to some of the more than 200 wineries nourished by bountiful sunshine and Pacific microclimates in this land of plenty. Enjoy picnic lunches at wineries and historic sites along the trail and learn about the art of raising grapes and turning them into fine wines. Discuss Sonoma County’s intriguing history and learn the finer points of tasting and enjoying wine.

• A knowledgeable outfitter handles your cycling needs and leads the way along the back roads of wine country, allowing you to simply enjoy your surroundings and absorb new knowledge.
• Become a more discerning taster and customer during an evening wine-appreciation session with an expert instructor.
• Learn about the rich history of Healdsburg and the area surrounding it during a historian’s lecture and an expert-led discovery of the Healdsburg Museum and Historical Society.

Program Notes

All bikes and helmets are provided. Bikes are hybrids, sizes 13-25 with some step throughs in smaller sizes. You may bring your own bike and/or helmet if you want; however, you will be completely responsible for all repair work on your bike including flat tires.
Due to the nature of this program, listening devices are not available.

Activity Notes

Bike 15-25 miles a day on scenic country roads with some hills. Program designed for recreational riders with intermediate riding ability. Daily rides on country roads, not bike trails, with opportunity for extended ride with guide.
