EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. Minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding, and rewarding, programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Standing amid the majesty of the Sierra Nevada, it's not hard to understand why Sequoia and Kings Canyon have been enshrined in our National Park System. Walk in Kings Canyon and discover how the granite cliffs of Grand Sentinel and North Dome were carved through the eons, and visit spots where John Muir delivered impassioned speeches in defense of the magnificent Sierra wilderness.

• Be awestruck in the cathedral-like Giant Forest by the General Sherman Tree, more than 2,000 years old and with a girth of 203 feet.
• Enjoy “An Evening With John Muir” as the Scott-born American naturalist colorfully recounts his adventures in nature
• Walk into Zumwalt Meadow, which affords excellent views of the meandering Kings River, a lush meadow and surrounding high granite cliffs.

Activity Notes

Moderate walking up to 1.5 miles over fairly level terrain, carrying a day pack for water and jacket. Elevations up to 7,000 feet. Field trip destinations and walks are subject to weather conditions.
