Program #21364RJ
12 Days | 11 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Active
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Join fellow art lovers on an exceptional voyage to the East Coast’s major cultural centers. Start in Boston as you explore the world-class Museum of Fine Arts and its acclaimed new wing. In New York, discover one of the world’s great artistic capitals on expert-led visits to the Met, the Guggenheim and more. View works by Matisse and Picasso in the Barnes Foundation’s new museum in Philadelphia and the only da Vinci painting in the Western hemisphere in Washington, D.C. With experts illuminating your scope, enjoy time to explore smaller artist colonies in New England and national sites in the U.S. capital.

Highlights

• Contrast the cosmopolitan flavor of two Boston museums with the eclectic collections at the Peabody Essex Museum.
• Explore the Metropolitan Museum of Art, housing ancient Egyptian vases, Tiffany stained glass and Rembrandt paintings.
• View Impressionist masters at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and spend an afternoon exploring the Barnes Foundation’s new Marion building to see why this is an instant national treasure.

Activity Notes

Walking up to two miles per day, some on uneven terrain. Standing for up to two hours at a time, up to four hours a day. Mobility is essential, as small boats and tenders are sometimes used for disembarkation and re-embarkation. There is no elevator on the ship and stairs are unavoidable.
