Love to learn in a small-group setting? This collection of programs has at most 10-24 participants.
See our Small Group programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. Minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding, and rewarding, programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
If you’re looking for a more flexible schedule with ample independent time and several meals on your own, then our FLEX learning adventures are made for you.
Embark on a ranging discovery of Hawaii’s second-largest island of Maui, from spectacular Kaanapali Beach — voted America’s best — to the misty mountains of the Upcountry at 3,000 feet elevation. Learn about locals who make a living farming crops such as coffee, pineapples and award-winning goat cheese on the verdant slopes of Haleakala Crater. Visit Kahakuloa Valley to meet families who have lived in the valley for generations. And on the final night, experience a luau — dance, music, feast — that culminates in a spectacular fire dance.

• Learn about marine environments snorkeling Lanai’s coral reefs, and enjoy two free days at your Kaanapali Beach resort base.
• Drive the scenic Hana Highway amid sea cliffs, waterfalls and narrow bridges to experience the leeward change in landscape from lush rainforest to desert.
• At Maui farms on the slopes of Mount Haleakala, learn about a farm-to-table ideal with locally grown products.

Program Notes

Roundtrip airfare is included in program price from Los Angeles or San Francisco! Low add-on fares from many cities. This learning adventure is one of our FLEX programs. It offers a more flexible schedule than our traditional programs and includes ample independent time and several meals on your own.

Activity Notes

Walk uneven ground, board water vessel, get on/off buses.
