ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding, and rewarding, programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Everyone's heard about its champagne powder and incredible alpine skiing, but Steamboat Springs is a world-class Nordic skiing destination as well. Home to four Nordic ski centers within 30 minutes of downtown Steamboat, the Yampa Valley provides an ideal backdrop for both skate and classic cross-country skiing. Explore 75 miles of trails for skiers of all ability levels, and enjoy the Yampa Valley’s lower elevation and heavy falls of good-quality snow that make it the perfect Nordic destination all winter long. Review skiing techniques and safety, and hear lectures in the field about the area’s famous hot springs and fascinating local history. Relax after skiing with daily passes to a hot-springs spa across the street from your lodgings.

• Review skiing techniques and safety with local experts.
