Program #8148RJ
7 Days | 6 Nights
While all of our learning adventures offer extraordinary value, our "Best Value" programs were rated by our participants themselves who thought their dollar went particularly far.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Revel in the festival atmosphere of “the Last Great Race” as the mushers and dog teams of the Iditarod set off from Anchorage to Nome and join spectators from around the globe converging in a carnival of winter fun. Rugged mountains, thick forest and pristine tundra — the intrepid explorers are met with a mix of perilous obstacles and stark beauty on their 1,150-mile trek to glory amid the mesmerizing Alaskan wilderness.

• Meet and dine with Iditarod mushers at the Musher’s Banquet and go behind the scenes at Race Headquarters to hear presentations by Iditarod mushers.
• Revel in the gala atmosphere of the ceremonial race start in downtown Anchorage and travel to Willow to see each team begin its 1,150-mile journey.
• Experience the historic town of Talkeetna at the base of North America’s tallest peak, Mount McKinley.
Due to the nature of this program, listening devices are not available.
