Program #14630RJ
6 Days | 5 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Revel in Alaska’s beauty as you examine the plants, animals and people who make it their home. In historic Talkeetna, a local mountaineer discusses the challenges that the pioneers faced, and in Fairbanks, the University of Alaska’s Museum of the North offers lessons on the natural and cultural history of interior Alaska. Follow Denali National Park’s winter trails to learn about local wildlife and look skyward each night for a glimpse of the northern lights.

Highlights

• Study the special adaptations of furry canine Iditarod veterans with a visit to a sled dog kennel.
• Explore Alaska’s frontier history on an interpretive walk through historic downtown Talkeetna.
• Keep your eyes peeled for moose and caribou as you journey across the Alaska Range to Denali.

Activity Notes

Aurora borealis sightings contingent on weather conditions.
