See our Small Group programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Enjoy French Canada’s two very different cities — cosmopolitan Montreal and charming Quebec City — and revel in the fine cuisine, history and artistry of both cities, with plenty of cultural insights from longtime residents.

Highlights

• Discover Quebec, with its eclectic architecture, streets and monuments—eloquent, perfectly conserved testaments to its evolution.
• A day for food lovers will lead you on an adventure through the many flavors of Montreal, strolling along beloved Saint-Laurent Boulevard.
• Enjoy independent study time with the benefit of insight from our local expert guide, entry to five major museums and the Botanical Garden and a metro pass.

Program Notes

This program is an active exploration of Montreal and Quebec City and includes substantial free time and directions for self-guided excursions. A more inclusive approach with a lower activity level is program 10382, French Canada: An Artistic Journey.

Activity Notes

Urban walking of two miles or more over varied terrain; some stairs. Participants need to carry their own luggage and on the train each participant is restricted to one piece of baggage and one carry-on bag.

Itinerary Summary

Independent arrivals. Montreal, 4 nights, train to Quebec City, 4 nights. Independent departures.
