13 Days | 12 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Easy
Love to learn in a small-group setting? This collection of programs has at most 10-24 participants.
See our Small Group programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Capture the arrival of fall and the new character its brilliant colors bring to the North Woods as you learn the techniques of high-quality nature photography. Get to know your digital camera better than ever before, investigating its features and using them to produce great images on the spot, without the need for photo-editing software. Take part in critiquing sessions with other photographers in the comfort of the conference center and unwind from each day of field trips beside the fireplace or in the spacious lounge, recreation center and nature library.

Highlights

• Capture landscapes, close-ups, wildlife, sunrises, night skies, waterfalls and more on daily field trips to outstanding scenic areas.
• Improve your composition skills, use of lighting and other techniques and engage in daily critiques with fellow photographers to help each other along the path to professional-looking images.
• Derive inspiration from your lodgings, a picturesque conference center atop a glacial ridge and overlooking 1,400 acres of forest and wetlands.

Activity Notes

Moderate walks on uneven terrain for up to a mile.
