Program #15225RJ
6 Days | 5 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderately Challenging
Love to learn in a small-group setting? This collection of programs has at most 10-24 participants.
See our Small Group programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
From rugged coastlines to inland trails, experience the signature fall foliage and unspoiled wonder of Maine firsthand. Throughout scenic Washington County, Registered Maine Guides lead vigorous hikes over rocky coastlines, into woodlands and around beautiful lake shores, sharing their knowledge of this unique environment. View ancient petroglyphs and hunt for fossils, keep your eyes peeled for deer, moose, fox, eagle and osprey and sample the rich cultural heritage of Fundy Bay during field trips.

Highlights

• Visit the summer home of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, including the cottage, gardens, exhibits and views of Passamaquoddy Bay.
• Hike the bird-rich trails around the "Reversing Falls" and explore the easternmost point of land in the continental U.S.
• In Shackford Head State Park on Eastport's Moose Island, learn about the tremendous tidal action in the bay of Fundy before taking a trip aboard the schooner, the Ada C. Lore to view the abundant marine wildlife.
