ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate
While all of our learning adventures offer extraordinary value, our "Best Value" programs were rated by our participants themselves who thought their dollar went particularly far.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. Minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding, and rewarding, programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
In Great Falls, Montana, rediscover the Wild West from the iconic cowboys and frontier explorers to the centuries-old traditions of the Plains Indians. Nestled in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, these rugged lands still hold that spark of the old American frontier. Witness the Wild West come to life with presentations from an expert historian, excursions to historic forts and an exploration of the prolific work of a cowboy artist. With a member of the Blackfeet Nation as your guide, learn the ancient ways of the Plains Indians.

Highlights

• Travel in time back to the Wild West as historian Dugan Coburn brings three illustrious folk heroes to life with period dress and tools.
• At the Russell Museum and the historic Fort Benton, learn how the American frontier influenced the art of colorful cowboy artist C.M. Russell.
• With a local member of the Blackfeet Nation to instruct you, learn the customs and traditions of the Plains Indians and take a field trip to the largest buffalo jump in America.

Activity Notes

Program includes getting on and off a coach bus, walking along paved and gravel paths, and standing in a museum. Elevators in the Centre are located a couple hundred feet from classes.

Coordinated by Ursuline Retreat, Conference Centre and Museum.
