There's no better way to discover the Cajun-Creole culture of South Louisiana than taking part in "Festivals Acadiens et Créole" — a celebration of music, food, arts and crafts. Background lectures trace the resurgence of Acadiana and prepare you to get the most of the more than 50 booths with traditional and contemporary crafts, food and music that give expression to this rich folk heritage. C'est si bon!

• Learn from master musicians about the history and craftsmanship of Cajun accordions and then delight in the songs and rhythms of the accordion, fiddle, and rub-board that communicate joie de vivre.
• Savor local favorites such as jambalaya, gumbo, boudin, maque choux and varieties of étouffée.
• Take a boat ride into the Atchafalaya Basin, where scenic beauty and cultural history combine to fill your senses.
