The Texas Hill Country is a land of arresting panoramic beauty and rich human history, an expanse of rolling limestone hills and crystal-clear rivers that provide fertile ground for endless arrays of wildflowers and the vineyards of the nation’s fastest growing wine-producing region. President Lyndon B. Johnson was a Hill Country native son, born in in Gillespie County in the very heart of the region, and it’s in the county’s seat, Fredericksburg, where you’ll make your home while exploring the natural and human heritage of this beloved American setting. From the Fredericksburg Historic District to winery cellars to the world's largest working wildflower farm, join local experts and Hill Country natives who introduce you to the region they love to call home.

• Explore the exhibits, arboretum and gardens of the Lady Bird Johnson Wildlife Center, and the Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park
• With a Park Ranger, discover the beauty and legend of the 425-foot pink granite batholith, Enchanted Rock.
• Field trips to selected Hill Country vineyards include meeting the vintners, exploring the first underground wine cellar in the Pedernales River Valley and tasting selected vintages.
