Program intended for grandchildren from 9 - 12 years of age.

Journey with your grandchild to Seattle, bustling cultural hub of the Pacific Northwest and gateway to the wonders of Mount Rainier National Park. Explore the Chittenden Locks and fly kites in Gasworks Park. Ride a ferry across Puget Sound and explore a tribal museum. Hike the trails of Mount Rainier National Park. Go behind the scenes at Safeco Field and at the Pike Place Market Look out on all you’ve experienced from atop the Space Needle.


Highlights

• Hike amid the waterfalls, wildflowers and glaciers of 14,410-foot Mount Rainier.
• Learn about the history and operation of the Chittenden Locks from an Army Corps of Engineers interpreter and visit the botanical gardens, locks and fish ladder.
• Relax with kite-flying in the park, a stroll through the Pike Place Market and a pizza party to top off the week.

Activity Notes

Walking up to 15 blocks on city streets. Optional walking in meadows, around waterfalls, on maintained trails.
