EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. Minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding, and rewarding, programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Journey through operatic ages and trends, beginning with the Italian bel canto operas of Rossini, Donizetti, and Bellini. Learn how bel canto influenced the French tradition — especially Opera Comique — which in turn evolved into what we know as operetta. Just as bad champagne can leave you with a headache and great champagne can lift you to celebratory heights, so operetta behaves in the classical music world! We’ll survey only the good: Offenbach, Lehar, Strauss, and Sullivan.

• Find out why “bel canto” is not simply a description of singing but a complex style demanded by operas of the day where emphasis on vocal beauty and brilliant technique carried productions and excited audiences more than story development.
• Spend an afternoon in the Peabody Archive collection viewing costumes, scores, and photos of famous opera singers with Peabody's archivist.
• During a special multi-course meal at a favorite Baltimore restaurant, enjoy vibrant singers performing beloved arias between courses.
