EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. Minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding, and rewarding, programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Program intended for grandchildren from 10 - 15 years of age.

Enjoy a nature getaway with your grandchild to learn hands-on about wild animals. Work with a biologist who bands birds for study and sweep through fields to find and identify insects. Also capture frogs and other pond critters and learn how one of the world’s most famous naturalists was collecting bugs in western New York in much the same way when he first caught the fever of wild discovery.

• Join a professional researcher as he hangs mist nets to catch small birds and outfits them with tags for identification — you may even get a chance to hold a bird!
• Hike amid the amazing rock formations — some as big as several-story buildings — of Jake's Rocks in the Allegheny National Forest.
• Enjoy a morning kayak adventure on the slow water of the Conewango Creek, where you can expect to see herons, ospreys, turtles and more.

Activity Notes

Walking up to three miles, mostly level terrain. Some off-trail hikes in fields and streams.
