Program #9504RJ
6 Days | 5 Nights
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Join us as we explore Greenbrier County and the surrounding area, beginning with historic Lewisburg. Named one of National Geographic's "Best Small Town Escapes," Lewisburg is surrounded by rolling hills, mountain forests and picturesque farmlands. Venture onto the grounds of the exclusive Greenbrier resort for an expert-led field trip of the Cold War Bunker, experience the traditional music, stories, arts and crafts of the Appalachians, and learn about the cultural heritage of this unique region.

• Learn about the lives and work of coal miners during a field trip to the Beckley Exhibition Coal mine and Coal Camp.
• Visit the beautiful Greenbrier Resort and take a step back in time to the Cold War as we explore the Cold War bunker there.
• Study the history, customs and daily life of Native Americans during a presentation by a member of the Cherokee tribe.
