Program #12659RJ
6 Days | 5 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Active
Love to learn in a small-group setting? This collection of programs has at most 10-24 participants.
See our Small Group programs.
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.

Program intended for grandchildren from 12 - 17 years of age.

Soak up the fun as you careen through the rapids of the Ocoee River, hang on to the inflatable “torpedo” behind a motorboat and splash down from a huge waterslide into a private lake. Meet aquatic animals up close at the Tennessee Aquarium then feel like a character off Mark Twain’s pages during an evening on the Southern Belle riverboat. Learn about the environment around you as you canoe on the Hiawassee River and go below the surface at the snorkel hole of the Conasauga River. Bring your water shoes and prepare to get wet and wild!

Highlights

• Enjoy an exhilarating, expert-led whitewater rafting expedition down the Ocoee River, venue for the 1996 Olympics.
• Water activities on a private lake include “torpedo” rides, slipping down the waterslide, bouncing on “the Blob” and pedaling a paddle boat.
• At the award-winning Tennessee Aquarium, encounter penguins, sharks, gators, turtles, snakes, frogs, otters and more.

Activity Notes

Walking up to two miles a day. Activities include rafting, canoeing, swimming.

Coordinated by Cohutta Springs Conference Center.
