Road Scholar
Program #11298RJ
6 Days | 5 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
During the summer months, Santa Fe is transformed into a lively cultural phenomenon. Learn about the centuries-old history of the area, including how Native American and Spanish contributions influenced architecture, art and cuisine. Attend two performances at Santa Fe Opera after discussing the 2014 season, and explore the opera’s backstage area.
Enjoy classes on New Mexico art, including one about Georgia O'Keeffe, and learn about local wine — a wine tasting included — and the sumptuous regional cuisine.

Highlights

• Attend two performances at the Santa Fe Opera after discussing the Opera season, enjoy a backstage look at the remarkable opera house.
• Trace Santa Fe’s fascinating history, multicultural diversity and art from early traditional styles to present-day contemporary gems.
• Take a field trip to Shidoni Foundry in Tesuque.
