Road Scholar
Program #13900RJ
6 Days | 5 Nights
ACTIVITY LEVEL: Moderate
EasyFor people looking to exercise their minds more than their bodies. There’s minimal walking and not too many stairs.
ModerateThese programs get you on your feet and include activities such as walking up to a mile in a day through a city and standing in a museum for a few hours.
ActiveFor people who enjoy walking as much as two miles a day, perhaps to explore historic neighborhoods or a nature trail.
Moderately ChallengingFor hardy explorers who enjoy a good physical challenge, spending most of their days on the go.
ChallengingGet ready to keep up with our highest-energy group. These demanding — and rewarding — programs are for seasoned outdoor enthusiasts.
Experience the renowned Aspen Music Festival and School, site of an annual pilgrimage of the world’s most accomplished and promising classical musicians, and attend ticketed evening concerts accented by expert lectures and fascinating field trips. Six hundred fifty student musicians, as well as 200 guest artists and artist-faculty members study and perform during a glorious summer of camaraderie and music. Revel in this magnificent festival amid spectacular mountain scenery.

Highlights

• Attend five major ticketed concerts with pre-concert lectures by music experts.
• Go inside the Aspen Music School and observe an Opera master class.
• Experience behind-the-scenes looks at festival venues and Aspen’s historic neighborhoods.

Program Notes

The 2014 season theme explores "Romanticism in music", with works on the program by Beethoven, Brahms, Tchaikovsky, and more, performed by artists such as Yefim Bronfman, Midori, Jeremy Denk, and David Finckel and Wu Han. The complete festival schedule can be found when announced on the web at www.roadscholar.org. Early arrival on first day recommended due to first ticketed performance that afternoon or evening.

Activity Notes
